The Bear turned 9!

In mid-August we celebrated the Bear's birthday just the way he wanted to.We went to the Pineview Reservoir to swim and play for the day, picking up Subway sandwiches for lunch. (His favorite.) Then when we got home for the evening we had dinner and a Minecraft themed cake that I made.  We sang and ate cake in the backyard so that our neighbors could join us to celebrate.

Our Bear has had a seriously eventful year- here are just a few high (and low) lights...

Allergy testing turned up a LOT of severe seasonal allergies, and led to nearly fainting afterwards. A juice and a lollipop helped.

He got baptized this year!

And he went to his first BYU volleyball game.

He loved Disneyland and Universal Studios and wasn't afraid to go on anything!

The Bear proved that he is an excellent hiker and camper. He loves being in the mountains.

He earned several Junior Ranger badges this year, learning about our National Parks.

He did a bit of baking and cooking with Mom this year, and is excited to learn to cook more.

He began piano lessons (which have sadly been put on hold due to Coronavirus) and surprised us all with his musical aptitude and enthusiasm for practicing his instrument.

He broke his arm and dislocated his wrist while rollerblading, and spent the late Spring and early Summer in a cast. Thankfully, it was waterproof.

We are so thankful to have this big little guy as part of our family! He still loves to come in with the joke to make people laugh, or cuddle with his mommy.  But he has also grown into a good student with an aptitude for math and music. He is learning to be more kind to his little sister, and more thoughtful about his choices and how they effect others. He is smart, loving, funny, and helpful.  We love you Bear!
