The house we are living in has a large garden plot. We spent last Fall clearing the weeds (some as tall as me) and preparing for this year. In January I set a goal for us to grow 500 pounds of fruits and vegetables in our yard this year. We'll see how that goes! All tilled and ready for planting at the end of April. We started some seeds indoors to transplant to the garden. We also replanted some veggies from the grocery store after we had used them- like celery, green onions, and lettuce. In early May the garden was still mostly empty space. By mid-May though we were beginning to harvest spinach, a little bit of lettuce, and green onions. One of zucchini plants was doing poorly so we dug it up and moved it to a new spot. I thought it would die so we replaced it with another zucchini plant from the store. But of course it recovered!
